The People Behind Your Child's Care

Two professionals working together to see the whole child — clinically, developmentally, and academically.

Dr. McKinzie Duesenberg-Marshall

Founder & Clinical Director

Dr. McKinzie Duesenberg-Marshall

PhD · LCP · NCSP · ADOS-2 Certified · PSYPACT

"Every child has the capacity to grow. They just need someone who sees them clearly — and knows how to help."

Dr. McKinzie is a licensed clinical psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist with a rare dual expertise — one that bridges clinical practice and the world of schools. She earned her PhD in Educational, School & Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri–Columbia, one of the country's leading programs at that intersection.

As founder of Minds in Progress, she built a practice where evaluations, therapy, parent coaching, and school consultation live in one place — from a provider who understands the full context of a child's life.

AREAS OF FOCUS

Kayela Malewitz

MS Clinical Psychology · Safe Zone Certified

"Behind every score is a whole person — I always look at both."

Kayela is a master's-level psychometrist focused on administering assessments to children and adults. She earned her BA in Psychology from Grand Valley State University and her MS in Clinical Psychology from Ponce Health Sciences University.

When completing assessments, she looks beyond the scores to the behaviors and experiences that shape them — with particular interest in how the brain and behavior interact, and how that shows up in a person's whole story.

Meaghan Roussin

Therapist

Meaghan Roussin

"I want every client to leave our sessions feeling a little more understood — and a little more confident in their ability to handle what's next."

Meaghan is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about working with teens and young adults, with a particular interest in supporting athletes. She has experience working with individuals across the lifespan, from children as young as three through adulthood, giving her a broad understanding of the different developmental stages and challenges that shape a person’s experiences.

Meaghan especially enjoys helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, emotional processing, and emotion regulation. She strives to create a supportive space where clients can better understand what they are experiencing, build practical coping skills, and develop a stronger sense of confidence and self-awareness.

Her experience working with children and their parents has shaped a family-centered approach to counseling. Rather than focusing only on the individual, Meaghan considers the relationships, environments, and family dynamics that influence a client’s well-being. She values partnering with both clients and families to create meaningful, lasting change.

Carolyn Conway

"I love looking at the whole picture — how learning, behavior, and environment come together — so families leave with real clarity about their child's next steps."

Carolyn is a master’s-level advanced doctoral student in School Psychology at the University of Missouri–Columbia. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Educational, School & Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri.

Her experience includes psychological and educational assessment, individual and group intervention, school-based therapy, and consultation with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Through her work in schools and community settings, she has developed a strong understanding of how learning, behavior, mental health, and a child’s environment can come together to shape their experiences.

Carolyn values looking at the whole picture when working with children and families. She especially enjoys connecting with people and making assessment findings understandable and useful, so that families leave with a clearer understanding of their child’s strengths, needs, and next steps.
